Sometimes I really like resources that have a physician’s stamp of approval. This guide to help patients determine if they have an alcohol problem is written by a doctor and is very straightforward. I also really like that the focus is on a “problem” with alcohol, versus “are you an alcoholic” which is a far more loaded question.

Check out the simple signs associated with a drinking problem, in this brief, but decent piece about alcoholism. This site in general is a really good resource, as it provides a whole slew of support information.

This is a really good, and very basic, introduction to alcoholism. I really appreciate the medical tone (vs. social judgments sometimes associated with discussions of alcoholism on the web).
